Crisis & Response

A couple of months ago, I wrote a blog on how Crisis is Revealing. Today I taught on crisis and how we must respond as Christians, looking at Esther 3 & 4. I always share notes from my teaching on the blog on Thursdays.

Let’s start by looking at spiritual warfare:

  • Our battle is not against flesh and blood
  • In Esther 3 & 4, we see Mordecai and Haman as oppositional forces that represent spiritual warfare
  • God’s people against the forces of the pagan world
  • We too have this same battle; a battle that began in the garden
  • This is not our home, offering false security when we get too comfortable

Yes, we will face battles. But we have a call to advance the Kingdom of God:

  • As the bride of Christ we must be ready for the call. God wants access to our lives for His purposes
  • Jesus came to destroy the works of the enemy and He places us in strategic places and times to forcefully advance His kingdom

So then, the question today is, “Are you prepared for the crisis?” Here are some practical ways that you can prepare:

  • Expect crises to come and expect God to show up
  • Daily offer your life as a living sacrifice to God
  • Commit your ways to God and allow Him to straighten your path
  • Strengthen yourself in the Word
  • Learn to hear the voice of your Shepherd so that you can respond appropriately in the times of crisis

This is our time to rise up and prepare. We closed our teaching today with the song, “Hosanna.” Here are some the lyrics:

I see a generation
Rising up to take the place
With selfless faith, with selfless faith
I see a near revival
Staring as we pray and seek

I encourage you to listen to the song here or below and reflect on the call to rise up. How can you prepare today?
