The Outstretched Hands of Jesus

Good morning and welcome to Making Space Mondays! Recently I listened to a song about the hands of Jesus sung by Elvis Presley. It brought tears to my eyes as I reflected on the words about the hands of Jesus. I hope that after you read this you will take a moment to listen to the song. It reminded me that the hands of Jesus on earth were:

Hands of healing….

Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him, and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them (Luke 4:38)

Hands of prayer…..

And he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will but yours be done. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly..” (Luke 22:41-44)

Hands of compassion….

And Jesus in compassion touched their eyes and immediately they recovered their sight and followed him (Matthew 20:34)

Nail pierced hands…..

When he had said this, he showed them his hands and side… (John 20:20)

Jesus used his hands to heal the sick, to show compassion on the needy, to pray and ultimately His hands were nailed to the cross. Beloved friends, if you are struggling with anything today remember that His hands are reaching out to you in your loneliness, your pain, your stress. He is near. Take a moment to watch this video. It will bless you!
