October 13, 2017

MT. PLEASANT, SC – Drawing Near to God Ministry, a non-profit, Christian women’s ministry based in Mt. Pleasant, will host their seventh annual fundraiser on Thursday, November 2nd at Patriots Point Links in Mt. Pleasant starting at 6:00 pm. This year’s event will showcase a dynamic presentation, “Make Space for God: Learning to Live a Simplified Life” with Joanne Ellison, founder and director of Drawing Near to God.

Ellison is an engaging speaker, writer, blogger and Bible teacher. In addition to over 20 Bible studies, she has written two devotionals, Drawing Near to God and Sitting at His Feet, and her most recent book, Tell Your Heart to Beat Again.  Ellison can also be heard locally on WJNI Radio and HIS Radio, which both air her inspirational spots and teachings regularly. She has also had appearances on Make Your Day Count, a Christian television program, and her blog posts are regularly syndicated by the Christian Broadcast Network. Ellison’s vision is to help women make space for God so that they will not be overwhelmed with life.

During her feature presentation, Ellison will be joined by Mark Andrews, who sits on the Board of Directors for Drawing Near to God Ministry. Andrews is an attorney and is a principal in the firm of Andrews Mediation and Law Firm, P.A.. in Mt. Pleasant.  Andrews is a recognized statewide leader in Family Court mediation and arbitration and he has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America publication and in the South Carolina Super Lawyers.  Andrews is a dynamic speaker with a passion for Ellison’s vision and the ministry’s impact on not only women but entire families.

This event is the primary fundraiser for Drawing Near to God Ministry, which helps women all over the world to learn to make space for God through online resources, a women’s conference, mentoring, missions & outreach and a weekly Bible study taught by Ellison. Drawing Near to God is fully supported by the generosity of private donors, Community Partners, and this fundraiser.

In addition to the feature presentation, the fundraiser will include live entertainment by the Charlestones, a premier men’s a cappella quartet from the Lowcountry, drinks and buffet dinner from Sandlapper Events.  This event is made possible thanks Drawing Near to God’s Community Partners: Brian D. Kurtz, CPA; Purico Group Company; Grace Outreach Ministry; Charleston Christmas Collectibles; and Life Resources.
